We went to Shady Maple Smorgasbord for lunch today and that was fun. I was horribly bad about my diet, but it's my birthday, so I said neener to it all.

Other than that, we just hung out like we do every day. we had some cake late, chocolate with peanut butter icing *dies* so good but so rich.

I got stuffs!

The only thing I asked for was a device that would play Netflix(and similar services) on my tv in my room. This one came with a free version of Angry Birds already installed on it, but you can get other games if you want. Some channels are free, some aren't, I'm still playing with it and learning how it works.

My one brother and his wife got me this purse/bag (my brother says anything over a certain size isn't a purse, its a bag) it's purty, and sparkly and I need to find my purse so I can switch my stuff over.

My other brother and his wife got me a Barnes & Noble gift card and a pack of YanYan! The gift card is so not burning a hole in my pocket <.<...

I also got this really cute sheep charm from my niece Piper. it reminded her of me, because I have a stuffed lamb on my one shelf that looks much like the charm (only the stuffy is all black, not white with black, but that's ok.) It lives on my necklace now!

I also got some new undies, bath scrub gloves and a copy of Wreck It Ralph along with my Roku from mom and dad, but they were not available for the photo shoot, and you can use your imagination for them anyway ;)

Mom was thinking about getting me some clothing from Catherine's  cause they've got a deal going right now(ends tomorrow  if you buy $200 you get $100 off...but the site's being a bum and only giving $50...we've gotta call customer service about that. They best be careful how they handle that call, Dee Shepley's not a customer you wanna piss off ;D

OH!

Totally a coincidence, but the accent color on my Roku box happens to be purple. Nifty, huh?

now back to playing with my Roku (yes Becca, I know, Riku)

Yet it feels like it's been a really long weekend or something. it really feels like it should be Sunday night.

Wednesday morning, we had to head out by 7, 7:30 at the latest - mom had her own Dr appointment at 10 and I was having fasting blood work fun -, to get my blood work done so they'd have time to get it processed to have it back to my Dr for my appointment Thursday morning (slackers didn't have it back, or the PA I saw last time didn't estimate right, whatever)

I now sport this bruise... )

that was about as fun as watching paint dry but it has to be done. I got to hang out in the waiting room at moms Dr, and then we went and ran errands. We did much the same today, only it was my Dr at 10, instead of moms. while I know it was better that we broke them up over the two days, cause mom's still getting over her pneumonia, it still feels like we did a lot more than we did, and did it all in one day.

Today/Thursday was my younger brothers birthday. he's now 29, and we like to poke fun that from his birthday till mine, we're the same age ;)  Mom asked him what he wanted for his birthday, and he told her a wii, or lunch...mom laughed, and said see you for lunch XD

while he got other things for his birthday, this one was the most amusing, as you can tell from the picture. It glows in the dark too. He plans to wear it to work tomorrow

*sigh* parents... )

And just for [livejournal.com profile] vexed_wench, shockingly dear wife, I own sheets that aren't purple. what is the world coming to? XD

but I think the cream goes very will with my new bedding set, which is why I told mom cream or a light purple, when she was asking everyone for sheet colors for Christmas ;)

The day was spent watching my niece and nephew, cause their mother had an appointment I would feel guilty letting her miss just because she felt guilty about asking me to watch them on my birthday. had by "birthday" dinner out sunday night, went to Olive Garden, had fun. got gifts.

Laptop sleeve

Roy and Ed key rings and file folder

double movie set, Flashdance and Footloose

and a rolly cart, cause my family thinks I'm insane for the number of bags I carry to school each day. I love it though. just have to hide is when not in use, or my nieces'll try to run off with it.

*grins* I had far too much fun wrapping my nephews birthday present........

his birthday is mid june, but since they're already up here for our family reunion thing, we throw a little party  for the boy.

the first year we did this, my nephew had been asking for a watermellon, something he and my mother both have a great love for, so my mother went out and bought one, and stuck some candles in it, and called it cake. since then, it's become a tradition to have a watermellon as part of the little celebration we throw for his birthday up here.

now back to the having too much fun wrapping his gift...

as usual my mother got him some clothing, always has, always will. I folded that nicely and laid it in the bag, then went about filling it so full of tissue paper that he couldn't hope to peek inside by pushing aside the paper a bit.

but the part I had went crazy with was the other item. apparently because she got my 4 year old niece and nephew a fisher price "FP3" player she felt that my 12 year old nephew needed an mp3 player of his own.

so she got him an Ipod. a nano.

*laughs evily* I wrapped that little bugger in at least 20 layers of paper, probably more, I lost count. I alternated between wrapping paper and tissue paper and used every varity we had left in our little stock of gift wrapping stuff. even the pink baby tissue paper and the seasame street wrapping paper.

then I buried that (and it had so much paper, it was almost double the size it started out as) at the bottom of the gift bag under the clothing.

*grins* by the time he got down to the last 5 or 6 layers, he was incredibly frusterated and would rip off one layer, growl loudly and rip off the next and repeat. I was kind though and put a very distinct paterened peice of paper on as the first layer, so i could tell him when it was the last layer, I'm not that cruel.

*bounces innocently* my mother says that the relationship my oldest nephew and I have is more like a brother and sister than a nephew and aunt, becuase he and his parents lived with us for so long when he was little, and I watched him alot, much like I watch my niece now....we won't go into the possibility of the same thing happening with her.

lets just leave it at my oldest nephew and I are really good at pushing each others buttons, and yes, so is my niece.
