Number 1 on the list of things I did not need today?

A letter in the mail telling me my medical assistance benefits have been denied and will end on the 12th of this month....

And now it's after 5 PM, and tomorrow's a holiday....

Just....

!@#$$#!@@

I plan to appeal. I tried calling the contact number today, but once I got through the machines prompts to give the name of the county I live in, it politely told me "the office is closed, please call back during out regular business hours, goodbye" and it is 'regular business hours'

so I'm left to stew about it till tomorrow.

You know what kills me, is I supposedly have a case worker, but they never called to check about my supposed lack of info.

Also, the 'mail date' listed on the letter is the 27th of June, but the stamp on the envelope? the 1st of July, so WTH?

I would scan or copy the postmark and the letter itself--my experience with Disablity is that they want documentation out the ass for everything--but as I found in my case, that documentation )in my case, the doctor changing his mind, needing CAT scan, etc) tipped the balance on my side. As far as caseworkers, I ride their asses, call 'em, bug 'em, fax 'em--that's what made the difference in my specific case, although your experience may be different...but I am sending positive mojo your way!!
