I suppose that happens when you live in a certain place for long enough. missing certain things about it. when I'm talking with classmates now and they hear that I used to live in GA, they stare at me for a bit then ask "really?" as if it's impossible for me to have my Yankee accent if I lived in Ga for any amount of time. sometimes it irritates the crap out of me, sometimes I remember my own naiveté about things I didn't know and let it go *shrug*.

I miss Golden Coral, and I can't really figure out if its the food, the atmosphere, or the fact that our town was small enough that everybody knew every body else, by simple association. shoot, half the people I still know down there are through my brothers....several of my crushes too...though I think my family is only aware of the one of them, thankfully.

while I adore PA winters, and the snow they bring, I miss being able to walk around the house barefoot and not have my toes feel like they're going to freeze off, whether I'm on the wood floor or the carpets.

I miss my old bedroom, where I had a porch that I could go out on if I felt like it, and I could have all my furniture in my room, and not have to put one or the other piece of it in the closet and still have room to not only walk through my room, but have 3 or 4 friends sleep over and STILL be able to walk through my room. I don't miss having to share the bathroom connecting the 2 upstairs bedrooms with my brothers....but having my own sink and mirror in my room and not in the bathroom helped make up for it...helped make up for having to have my room taken apart and the wall cut open every time the AC handler broke down too.

I think I miss most of all that I could shut and/or lock my bedroom door and it actually seemed to make people stop and think, gee, maybe she wants to not be bothered right now, how important is the thing I need to ask her. while its entirely possible that this phenomenon was only made possible by the fact that the only things upstairs in our GA house was the 2 bedrooms and bathroom, it wasn't that difficult to shout up the steps, they were spiral, and there was just a small, like 5 foot hall between the two bedroom doors...

I sometimes ponder the idea of hanging a dry erase board on my door so I can leave a message and let people write their question down, but in this house, I wonder if it'll actually get noticed..

well fudge, it's 2 am already and I have to watch my niece in about 4-5 hours, I suppose I should get some sleep, drowsy babysitter and wide awake 8-9 month old does not mix well, I've tried.
