And it snowed in hell

I'm very well know for my poor math skills. back when I was in high school, I barely managed to squeak by with D's for the most part, if I was lucky. The only class's I ever made better than that was in, for example, back in 8th grade the school was running a test program, L.E.A.P. I forget what the letters stood for, but it basically meant smaller classes, and I made B's there, but throw me back in a regular class and I get lost very easily....and the class they tried where you work at your own pace on the computer, just ask the teacher for help....heh, the teacher stopped coming to help me...I failed that one....

Anyway, enough memory lane. Where the title of this post comes from *grin*. I'm takeing my math course at college now. So the other day I called my mother to get a message to her, and while I was on the phone I mentioned that I'd gotten my first test back and I'd gotten a 90, I heard her turn to her co-workers and ask them if they saw snow out the window *grin* I laughed all the way down the hall off that one.

The other reason for this post, I had to write a word problem for my math course, and [livejournal.com profile] sadler_girl asked me to post it on LJ, see if anyone could get the right answer, so...

Lisa needs to make corsages for the local school dance. She has 31 orders that need to be filled. If each corsage is made with 4 flowers, how many flowers dose she need to buy?

if you like, you can comment with your answer and I'll let you know if you got the right number.

I'd have liked to be a bit more creative, but we had a set number that our problem had to come out with, and that wouldn't co-operate with the other rule of having to be about something we "know" cause all the stuff I know, never really reaches that high a number, so I kind of gave up on the fancy in place of actually having something to turn in.

So assuming the 31 orders are for 31 total
Then we say
31X4= 124

So Lisa needs to buy 124 flowers.

I would agree with [livejournal.com profile] sadler_girl 31 x 4 = 124 flowers to purchase. But I suck in math too :(

yeah, thats the right answer, I was talking to sadler when she answered it, so I told her there.

my problem was one of the simpler ones, but thats ok, I turned one in, that's my new theory on all homework, even if it's not right, cuase really, if I go the way I went last term, I'll end up with another incomplete and just....excessive stress, don't need that.
