I'm having a hard time with pre-processed foods today......

Earlier I put together a salad using this pre-bagged mix that had toppings and such in the bag with the lettuce. It's more of a slaw than a salad, but the other mix by the same brand was really good, so I figured it couldn't be too bad.

The salad looked and smelled great. Unfortunately when I took my first bite, it tasted a bit like a stinkbug smells when you squish it....even after I tried again, hoping the first bite was a fluke.

After I got over that gross factor, I tossed the rest, cleaned my bowl and went for a can of soup I love and have had many times over.....first bite in was gritty and poppy and I was afraid of what that might spell for the second try, but thankfully that first bite was a fluke this time and I was able to eat a whole something to fill the hole in my stomach.

Bad food experiences aside, I'm having a bit of fun with my sister in law. she just sent me a text asking if I was home, to which I responded with,

"No, I ran away with a band of gypsies and I'm somewhere in the middle of Virginia right now."

She hasn't responded yet, and I'm not sure if she's just busy at work, or doesn't get my joke. Only time will tell on that one. Maybe she forgot mom and dad left for France?

The Cake

I've been slack on posting photo's from our party here, but I posted them on FB, so you can check em out there if you have me friended there. I do need to post a pic of the cake I made with the car from this post which I said I would.



It'd have been nice to have plastic trees that were more to scale, but the fresh twigs worked for the effect XD.
