Does no one comparison shop anymore?

The other day, I was reminded that I want a copy of the Hunger Games trilogy, so I checked out Amazons price, cause they're trustworthy, and usually have the best, if not almost best price available, for a starting point.
I checked a few other places, but the shipping makes it not worth it, with Amazon's free super shipper savings or whatever its called...
so I cruised over to eBay, and dug around a bit. it seems that someone got hold of a case of the paperback sets, and with the release of the movie this Friday, has unleashed them on the masses at eBay starting at a penny bid. good business practice, considering the first batch jumped to $15 or better within an hour of when I found them.
Here's where my post subject comes in. Most of these lots of the trilogy seem to be selling about 5-10 dollars under the amazon price, so, about even with the cheapest price I could find it outside Amazon/eBay. still a deal, since the person who has this case of book sets is offering free shipping.
But this one set last I flipped through the lots still active, was at $10 over the amazon price.....
and it just made me wonder if some people just don't comparison shop, or are just that loyal to eBay....
