While I'd whole heartedly love to be one of those people who takes animals from shelters to foster and find homes for, I'm just not built for it.

On Monday we got some more recent pics of the grey and white kitten, and the tiger one (my brother wanted the black one as soon as we found them, but he needed to get a bit bigger and well nourished first) and posted them on some of the local classifieds groups on FB. Tonight, the lady who is adopting the grey and white one came to pick him up, and in the middle of giving her all the info about him I burst into tears.
The sight of him sticking his paw out of the carrier bars, and the black one climbing on top of it to try and reach his brother did not help this.
So yeah, not cut out to be an animal foster mom, no matter how good I might be at it.
It would have helped if mom had been here to do the hand over.

*hugs more*

Date: 2012-10-19 12:30 pm (UTC)Mom would have loved to let me keep the tiger one, but she has a point, about my allergy's, as well as my one nephew, who's allergy's are worse than mine.
We're hoping that once all the kittens are gone, Duchess gets less pissy towards Patches, sort of a "one's better than 4" kind of thing. She's been refusing to come on that porch at all, unless we pick her up and carry her through it, and she growls and hisses the whole way.
