Apparently I'm a bad conversationalist...

So, this guy popped up on my ICQ messenger just now and started talking to me. and wanted to scold me for being a bad conversationalist. yeah.

8457412: How are you?

Shine: hi

8457412: I'm sorry if I bothered you.  I'm a 32-year-old guy from Houston, Texas.

Shine: oh

8457412: OK, never mind.

Shine: ?

8457412: One-word responses don't make for much of a conversation.

8457412: Neither does just "?" without even bothering to type anything out.  Good night.

Shine: sorry, I've got several other conversations going on at the same time

Shine: it's hard to keep up

Shine: but if you're going to assume that I've been "bothered" because of a one word response, in the first minute of conversation, to a person I've never talked to before that very moment, without knowing what I might be doing, or how many people I'm holding a conversation with at the time, then that may be best

Shine: is that enough words for you?

8457412: I didn't get it because I had you blocked.  I see I unblocked you too soon.  Good bye.

Shine: so you're a presumptuous high horsed asshole then?

Now whether he's blocked or unblocked me, I've blocked him from my end, so that's that. There's always the chance it's some random IM bot, but those don't usually pop up on ICQ, so I dunno.

Heh, I remember a time when I couldn't live w/o ICQ. I haven't even bothered DL'ing it on my last 2 comps, & don't even remember my number.

When I first installed Trillian, and had the option of including my ICQ #, I had to go look it up, and I found it on the ICQ site. I was kinda surprised. now its programmed into my trillian astra account, so I'll be unlikely to lose it again, whether I cared or not.
