shinelumiereI haven't had a dental check-up since high school, possibly pre- 10th grade even. This is not a horrible thing, but it'd better to get them checked from time to time, even if they don't hurt, that whole preventative health thing.
I called my mother's dentist, they don't take my insurance. Bother...but, it was bound to happen eventually.
so I tried going to my insurance's website to search for one that did. It turned out that their search engine for finding a dr on the site is down, had been since the Thursday before(this was last Monday) with no clue as to when they'd be back online.... so I opened a chat with one of their people, and after 10 or so zip codes and no dentists showing up, we went through about 10 or so towns by name(annoyingly, most of which are covered my those same 10 or so zip codes we'd already been through) to finally find a few.
I've yet to make an appointment. I took the info for each one, and I've gotta look them up and see which one is closest to me, and which one(s) are taking new patients, so I haven't done it yet.
I had my second sleep study, for the CPAP portion of the testing. I had no real problem with it, and I fell asleep fairly quickly (helped by the fact that my tech had another patient she was setting up who asked to go to bed early, as she had to get up early [and who didn't want to be there, and was very rude to the tech as a result apparently and she didn't get started hooking me up till she was done with the other lady. Unfortunately, sometime later, I woke up and could not get back to sleep, no matter what I tried to help it along.
I thought that I'd have to do another CPAP sleep study so that they could get some better readings, which is what my tech said would most likely happen and she sent me home with the mask and hose I'd used to bring back with me whenever that sleep study was set up.
Not so. I got a call yesterday from the company who the the Dr apparently ordered the CPAP machine from....Which I knew would likely happen as a result of my sleep study, I just thought it'd be after my follow up appointment to go over everything, which isn't till the 7th of May, but I'm good with it this way too.
And luckily, or so the guy at the company who called me to let me know it was ordered told me, my insurance company will cover my machine 100%.
So, hopefully that end stays on course, I have to call the cardiologist's office and see about changing the appointment they gave me. The program I'm in for the weight loss surgery is wonderful, they offer loads of info, ways to get the info, and reach people who can help you understand the info, but every now and then something gets caught up in the tape, as it were. one of the consults/test I'm required to have is to see the cardiologist, and I was told the all of these things would be contacted and started back when I started going to the program. Back on March 25th, after my last nutrition appt. the woman running the class told us as this was our last required class, our patient reps would be getting in touch with us in about a week or so. When my rep called, we realized that for whatever reason, my paper work had never been sent to the cardiologist. So, my rep said she'd see about getting that going, and asked me to let her know when my next sleep study(which I apparently do not need..) was scheduled, so we'd all be on track.
Anyway, long story short, finally heard from the cardiologist, in the form of a letter and packet of info to be read and filled out, with an appointment filled in.
It'd have been nice if they called to find out a better day, but I suppose at least I know they've got my info now....but now I have to call and play the "what day do we have open that match?" game, which is annoying.
Anyway, enough ranting/whining, it's 11:30 PM, and it's Psych night! which means Psych is all done recording and I can skip all the commercials!
