shinelumiere: (Christmas Coffee)
Come put it in my room.

We heat our house with propane, and my father, crazy man that he is (yet sensibly, in this economy especially) is trying to get the cheapest deal on propane that he can, so right now, we have the furnace off(or set really low...), and are only useing the propane for cooking, and we have several electric and propane space heaters running in the main rooms of the house.

My room is not a main room.

To get the cheapest price on propane right now, they won't deliver it till Tuesday...it could be delivered today, but it'd be at least twice the price.

And really, I'm ok with this for when I'm sleeping. I have two large blankets, several throw blankets, as well as the stacks of extra blankets we have throghout the house. And during the day the living room and kitchen are warm enough to go about things as normal

What is irritating is trying to sit here at my desk and do stuff on my computer and not freeze (or feel like it anyway) I have onright now, my flannel PJ pants, a pair of fluffy socks, and my thick warm bath robe. It takes the edge off, but I'm still chilly and am considering some more layers.

I might move my laptop out to the coffee table, It'll help me hear mom bellowing better anyway.

Mom had her foot surgery yesterday. Dad's work is sending him to France again for 2 weeks. While they're not purpously doing it, sometimes it seems like they wait till the busiest times here at home for dad to send him away for work. They sent him to France for 2 weeks in November, and several other times and back in May when we were getting ready for out party on Memorial Day weekend.

Anyway.

Busy time of year. Foolishly, I decided to make my brothers and their wives something cross stitched for Christmas. While what I have in mind is totally feasable for a month(well, less than) it'd have been nice to have figured this out a couple months ago, so I could get things done at a more leasurely pace. I bought a new pattern booklet tonight, and on the back the group that makes(the patterns) or publishes them is called "Leisure Arts". WWhen I saw that, I felt like laughing my butt off, because less than a month to do multiple mid-sized cross stitched designs doesn't really feel like "leisure"

I still reserve to call flock it on the home made deal, and get them all Starbucks gift cards ;D

For now, I'm cold and tired(lots of deep thinking tonight, but thats another post) so I shall head off to bed and let them marrinate. I'm also on another course of antibiotics(2nd Zpac, first one started the saturday before thanksgiving) so I'm trying to be a good sick person and get good sleep, whatever that may be considered...
